What are helpful consideration to navigate career progression and ambition as a Christian?

I have been thinking about how to navigate work as a Christian. There are so many things to consider like ambition, career choices, scope of work and industry, promotions, work cultures, gossip, etc. And these can be tainted by greed and selfishness, among others. What are some helpful considerations to navigate this?
